Every year, Oregon limits how much landlords can raise rent.

  • Here's how it works:

    • The state calculates the limit by adding 7% to the region's most recent Consumer Price Index (CPI).

    • If the sum exceeds 10%, the maximum increase is 10%.

  • For 2024, the maximum rent increase is capped at 10%.

  • Landlords can only raise rent once in 12 months.

  • In 2023, the limit was different:

    • Increases before July 6th could be up to 14.6%.

    • Increases after July 6th were capped at 10%.

• The maximum Oregon rent increase for 2025 will be announced by September 30, 2024.
